It’s Never Enough.
Today was such a beautiful day. The weather was sunny and cool, the sky was blue and the kids and I left the house early.
Wil had an appointment at Fisher Price to get his picture taken on one of those Power Wheels. (This sounds impressive to some people but what most don’t know is that they take pictures of about 5 kids every time and they give you a $25 gift card to spend on their toys. Then they don’t tell you if your kid’s picture makes it onto the box or catalog. You have to look at it when it comes out in the stores to see if that shoot was a success or not. We have been doing this for over a year now and neithe
r Wil nor McKinley have made it to the big time yet. So why do we do it? Because the kids have a great time at the photo shoot and they get to save up their money to buy a toy Mom and Dad wouldn’t have purchased in the first place. And how cool would it be if they did make it on a box or catalog?)
So we had a good time at Fisher Price and headed home. On the way McKinley decided she didn’t want to go home yet so we took a detour to
the local playground. I didn’t mind since we were dressed for the occasion and we were already in the truck. (Getting out of the house is always the main obstacle.) We had a huge break through at the park; McKinley was brave enough to go down the slide all by herself! She started out as usual, asking to sit on my lap and then she just did it. Wow, I was so proud of her and so was her big brother who has been dominating the slide action since he was about 1 1/2.
While we were there two more kids showed up, a two year old little girl and a three or four year old little boy. It was perfect. Wil and McKinley
made friends right away. Wil took off running with his new buddy and they chased each other up and down and all around for a good 45 minutes. McKinley mostly played solo and every once in a while found the other little girl and gave her hugs and kisses. LOL. The playground was tons of fun.
We decided, well, Mom decided it was time to head home since it was way past nap time. The kids were exhausted but you wouldn’t know it by the fit Wil threw telling me he didn’t want to go home yet. Thankfully, both of the other kids were leaving too. That made it a little easier. They thought
the fun ended there but lo and behold what did we find waiting for us in the lobby under the mailboxes; but a box addressed to Momma! The kids automatically assumed there was something for them inside. Of course, why would Mom actually get anything for her? LOL.
They were right. It was a gift from my friend Connie who I worked with in Tampa. It was so sweet. She sent it for Izzabelle but was kind enough to include Wil and McKinley too. Wil was excited to find some trucks and a
new set of pj’s but was even more excited about the “Magic Bottle” McKinley received. I mean who hasn’t been mesmerized by the disappearing juice? LOL. I know Connie keeps up with us on by reading our blog so I want to make sure I tell her “Thank you, Ms. Connie” from the bottom of our hearts for making a great day even better!
So, you would think that after such a wonderful time, the kids would be just so happy they would be willing to take a nap without a fight. Yeah, right. You would have thought I had beat them all day by the way they wailed when I laid them down. Enough is never enough for these little rug rats. But, Mom did win out in the end (like I always do; I mean really, they should know better by now) and they are sleeping right now as I type. :o)

Of course, McKinley woke up about 30 minutes after mami laid her down. Sometimes, you can’t win for winning. LOL.

Hey guys, finally figured out how to leave a comment. Up early this morning (0530) and believe it or not I had my knuckleheads on my heart. So, I stopped by for my dose of Wilsons and yep…miss you guys even more. Too Much Love for Ya. Pray for me as I head into a long hard weekend of 72 degrees and sunshine. Even worse is that the boss is making us start off the weekend (Friday) with some team building activity - golf….haha. It’s a “tuff” life right now, hope it only get’s “tuffer.” Love on the kids (baby goats not included) for me then help yourself to the leftovers.
