Tuesday Fun with Papi
We have been enjoying some summer-like weather up here in Buffalo last few days. Monday to Thursday its been sunny, mid- to high-60s, just very enjoyable.
So Tuesday I sent Melodia away for some Mami time (bowling and a movie) and I took the three kids for a walk.
I had Izzabelle in the front carrier on my chest and pulled Wil and McKinley in the wagon.
We walked over to the volleyball facility. I thought it was quiet there and the kids could play inside for a while.
As it turned out there was a modified volleyball tournament about to start so the place was action-packed. That of course made it even more exciting for the kids. They wanted something from the concessions stand so I stood them on the counter and let them pick out their drinks.
Wil caught site of the pretzels and had to have one. These kids sure like warm pretzels. Of course, so do most of us! Yummy.
So we sat at a table eating our pretzel and drinking our “special” drink.
After that, the kids went up into the balcony so they could look down and watch the volleyball.
We then headed down to the court to a quiet area so they could play on the bleachers. They love climbing up and down on them, walking along them and hopping off. Wil is just a jumper. Since about two years old, he has just loved to jump off things. McMac hasn’t shown as much jumping enthusiasm, but she still partakes every now and then.
After over an hour, we walked home. That is, I walked home with Izzy still asleep on my chest in the carrier, while Wil and McKinley enjoyed more riding in the wagon.
Both kids had skipped naps, so they were a little tired. They wanted some “chocolate” cereal to eat. I started feeding Izzy and a few minutes later heard snoring. I looked over and McKinley -lol- had eating all of her cereal, then put her head down, and fallen asleep. How funny… and beautiful at the same time.
Each day the kids bring us little moments of joy (and some big moments of frustration -lol)… but the moments of joy are worth the process. I don’t think I want them to grow out of the 2 and 3-year-old stage!

Grandma/Grandpa Wilson: Oh boy, the ornament clusters brought back memories; I can remember Lonni and Jody doing the same thing. And of course, we too had to sneek around when they weren't watching and spread them out...lol. I'm sure as you continue the traditions at your house, they will have wonderful memories of them as they grow and then raise their own children...and the legacy continues! Have a wonderful Christmas, we absolutely wish we could be there, but alas, we do love snow---only from a distance this days. TV, mountain tops viewed from our valley, and lots of your "snow" pictures are
Melodia Wilson: Thankfully, no one had to give up a Lazy boy. Amazing but true, we were able to keep all three chairs and the kiddie table in the living room! LOL! It's a tight fit, but we managed. Hehehe.
ang: The tree looks great with only one thing missing - snowflakes! FYI: Born and raised in snowbelt country and there is no beating the true Lake Effect machine. Try sitting by Lake Erie watching the clouds roll in and the snow blanket all around you---that is a true WNY experience. We know it can snow any time even after a 70 degree day in mid March! Glad to see the kids enjoy the snow it is a true icon of this region try out the huge hills at Jamestown Community College--when they are about 10! As an adult it was
Lala: Mel you outdid yourself! Great job!
Lonni Wilson: C'mon, that candy thing isn't all me. Besides, that's how I was raised... my dad was a connoisseur of candy. Oh, and understand someone, I was buying bulk candy in junior high and taking it to school in a tupperware box in my backpack... yeah, a regular "candy man" and I loved it! So c'mon, jokes all around about the candy guy.
