Baby it’s cold outside, and other ramblings.

It has been so very cold these past few weeks.  We made it into the negatives. I guess that is what comes with winter’s up here but it has been cold every where. I think my Florida blood has started to thicken up, but when the wind starts blowing and it’s in the teens, no one’s blood is thick enough! 

I know my  Floridian family and friends have been complaining about it getting into the 20’s. I don’t remember it ever being that cold in FL.

The good thing about it staying cold up here is that the snow has not melted.  This makes for a very pretty winter.  It is very overcast most of the time, so having the whiteness of snow makes it a little less depressing.

The bad thing about it getting so cold is that the kids can’t play outside and enjoy the snow if it is too cold.

That makes for some serious cabin fever.  Especially when Mami can’t take them anywhere because it takes so much extra effort to bundle them all up and get them out to where ever we are going.

Winter definitely calls for extra helping hands.  So Mami has had to come up with some more craft projects in order to keep the kids from going stir  crazy.

They really enjoy painting and making animals.  I have to admit that I enjoy making the crafts too.

However, there have been a couple days that the temp has been in the upper 20’s and the kids were able to enjoy some snow time.

This is always so much fun for them, especially when Papi gets to go out and play with them for a while.

I usually have to stay in and watch the fun  because of Izzy.  She is too little to enjoy any cold.

So I put the larger lens on the camera and take pictures from the back door.

Papi got to build some tunnels and chairs out in the snow today because of the snow drifts.  Our little hills got pretty deep.

In general, the kids are growing so fast.  I just had to purge all of Izzy’s 0-3 month clothes and some of her 3-6 month stuff doesn’t fit!  We can start to see the little girl she will become.

She is a very good baby, but hasn’t been sleeping well lately.  However, she smiles a lot and has really been babbling.  She is going to be a talker just like her big sister.

McKinley talks up a storm and uses hand and face gestures to add to the drama of it all.  She is always hugging us and telling us how much she loves us.  “Us” includes her brother and  sister.  Sometimes we have to make sure she doesn’t “over” love on her baby sister.

Wil is still loving Kung Fu Panda.  He has stopped taking naps, as a result he is having more melt downs; much to Mami and Papi’s dismay.

He is growing so fast.  I can’t believe he will be turning 4 in just four months!

As for Mami and Papi, we have been busy doing what we do.  Lonni has started back to school, between teaching and volleyball, he stays pretty busy.  I have stayed busy with homeschool, church, and trying to keep up with housework.  Like I have stated before, keeping the house clean with two toddlers and an infant is like shoveling the sidewalk in the middle of a snow storm.  And we know a little something about snow storms. )
